Project implementation period: 2013-2018

 

The aim of the project is optimization of investment casting process for manufacturing hollow LPT multivane clusters with thin walls and trailing edges for turbofan jet engines. In order to achieve restricted requirements for turbine parts, a new technology must be developed. Project supports the development of a casting process for large scale EX hollow LPT multi vane clusters (6 airfoils) made from IN713C superalloy with ambitious wall thickness tolerances. The general background of the new technology will be certified Vacuum Induction Melting and Investment Casting Technique. However, each step of this technology will be adjusted to obtain unique parts with required technological quality.
